Family-owned out of Navajo Mountain, Arizona
Meet Grandma Bessie
My grandmother Bessie is Naashtʼézhí Tábąąhí clan, born for Kin łichii’nii clan. She and my late grandfather, David raised their children and grandchildren next to the Whiterocks in Navajo Mountain, AZ. From their five children, they have a total of 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The Whiterocks have been a very special place to our family for several generations.
With the help of our border collie, Lyla, Bessie collects the cedar beads you will see amongst our items. The wild animals help with the process by piercing the hole halfway through as they consume the fruits inside. Bessie then sifts the cedar beads, washes them, and then pierces each of them all the way through.
These cedar beads are then incorporated into some of our pieces. Bessie also makes Navajo Rugs with the wool from our family flock. Her last rug was made from Navajo-churro wool, all processed from start to finish by Bessie. Most of the colors were natural colors of the wool, and two of the colors she dyed from domestic plants to our area.
Bessie is also an herbalist. She shares her knowledge with her children and grandchildren. You will occasionally find herbal remedies and teas at our local setups. Since the passing of my grandfather David, Bessie continues to be the resilient and hardworking woman she has always been; she is known to always be working on something. Bessie speaks Navajo, but she may return an English greeting with a, “Hello” or “Hi.”
Bessie finished her latest rug the summer of 2026.
My late grandpa David over 20years ago. He served as Grazing Committee official in Navajo Mountain for 35 years.
Meet my mom Pat
Pat is Naashtʼézhí Tábąąhí clan, born for Tódích’íi’nii clan. Her maternal grandfather was Kin łichii’nii clan, and her paternal grandfather was Áshįįhí clan. She is retired military; she has been on multiple deployments. We are all so grateful she is now back home with us. She was in the jewelry business before joining the military, so she has returned to something she has always enjoyed.
My mother is my grandmother Bessie and my late grandfather David’s only daughter. My son, Josiah, made her a grandmother this year! She is such a fun grandmother with a contagious laugh. You may hear that laugher from time to time when you visit our tables. You may also catch my mom beading away during our setups.

About Me
Ya’at’eeh, my name is Cali. I am Naashtʼézhí Tábąąhí clan, born for Oglala Lakota Sioux. My maternal grandfathers are Tódích’íi’nii and my paternal grandfathers are Oglala Lakota Sioux. I was raised next to the Whiterocks in Navajo Mountain, Arizona. Makes for such a fun playground for a child.
My grandparents helped raise me while my mother was in the military. My mother and I also speak the Navajo (Dine Language). I feel so blessed and grateful for that, as it is very helpful when we come across our Dine-speaking elders at our tables.
My husband, Andrew, and I welcomed our first child earlier this year. A baby boy named Josiah. We are very excited to embark on this journey with him.
So great to meet you all,
Ahehee/Thank you
